The Devil wants to destroy you right now, this very moment. I put the “d” in caps not out of respect or admiration, but because he is the chief trouble-maker in your life. Yes, he is a big one. And if you don’t know him yet, you are in bigger trouble. 1 Peter 5:8 says that he “prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour”. He just wants to go for the jugular. He does not care if your life is already a mess, if your dreams are unfulfilled. Well, all the better for him.
But the great and benevolent God cares. He is concerned if you don’t know Him yet. Oh, He is in love with you and has been taking care of you all this time, right since your heart started beating. He is pained that you don’t know Him yet, and that you have other gods in your life. Yet He loves you more than you can imagine. And He hopes that one day you will turn to Him.
Yes, you are the lost son or daughter and He is waiting for you to come back to Him. And when you do He will take you in His arms and celebrate.
