Saul was chosen as the first king of Israel, anointed by the prophet Samuel.

Saul's selection is recorded in 1 Samuel 10:1, with the people having requested a king to be 'like all the nations' (1 Samuel 8:5). Despite early successes, Saul's reign was later marked by disobedience and psychological struggles.

David's son Absalom led a significant rebellion against his father's rule.

This rebellion, described in 2 Samuel 15-18, forced David to temporarily flee Jerusalem. Absalom was eventually killed after his hair became caught in a tree during battle, despite David's explicit instructions to spare his life (2 Samuel 18:9-15).

Solomon, David's son, became known for his extraordinary wisdom.

According to 1 Kings 3:5-14, God granted Solomon wisdom in response to his humble request for discernment rather than wealth or long life. His wisdom is famously illustrated in the story of two women disputing over a baby (1 Kings 3:16-28).

Solomon built the First Temple in Jerusalem, a central place of worship for Israel.
