Many believers have wondered how the wise men from the East knew to search for the newborn “King of the Jews.” Their journey actually began centuries before Jesus’ birth—through the faithfulness of one man: Daniel.

When Daniel was taken captive to Babylon, God raised him to an extraordinary position: he became chief over all the wise men, the magi, and the royal advisors (Daniel 2:48). No Israelite had ever held such influence.

From that God-given platform, Daniel taught these scholars the Scriptures, including Israel’s prophecies about the coming Messiah. Those teachings did not fade with time—they were preserved, studied, and passed down through generations in the East.

So when an unusual star appeared in the night sky, the descendants of those very magi recognized it.

They remembered Daniel’s prophecy.

They understood the sign.

And they followed the light all the way to Jerusalem.
